Hey! I’m Jim, the Treasurer of Men’s Cricket and also one of your Sports Rep’s.
This is what I will bring to the role:
- This year I have been a Sports Rep working with the Sports Officer to represent TeamUCL members and pioneer change.
- As the Treasurer of UCL Cricket, I have gained a deep knowledge of Union systems and have been responsible for organisation and fundraising and sponsorship.
- I have extensive experience in leadership positions, sitting on the Sports Representative Group, Activities Zone and chairing the Sports Night Working Group. I have also been a key committee member Cricket.
Participation: Ensuring that sport is available for everyone, with support for clubs to create structured and accessible beginner programmes.
Marketing: A lot of the amazing achievements of our clubs aren't celebrated. I would work with existing student media and the SU to improve coverage of what our clubs are doing and also generate exposure for small clubs.
One TeamUCL: Bridge the disconnect between TeamUCL and RUMS to boost UCL’s overall sporting presence. Continuing the development of UCL Leagues and Project Active.
Efficiency: Simplifying union processes to make running clubs easier.
Sport has defined my university experience, and I want to help enhance the experiences of everyone involved in TeamUCL. My passion, combined with my prior experience, makes me highly suited for this role. I am deeply committed to driving positive change, improving access, and increasing enjoyment. Every student deserves the same opportunity to thrive that I have been afforded. I will work to break down barriers and create more inclusive opportunities so that all students, regardless of background or ability, can engage in sport and feel part of a strong, supportive community.

I'm part of Aikido and Tennis and love sports and socialising. I would love to contribute the overall functioning of sports here at UCL, be a good checkpoint for those who wish to improve and define their specific societies, and also be able to create some events of my own, to raise money whilst doing something fun! I have experience from my 1st year being a Hall Rep and handling budgets and planning events. I believe I am someone who is very approachable and although I am not the most impressive public speaker, will put on a strong voice to get your ideas out ;)
I would like to achieve a more strengthened bond within UCL Sports and the Students Union. I would also love to host some events (while participating in them - quite badly) for UCL, especially interlinking clubs that have not had events together!
I love people (and people who do sport are so cool) and think there can be so much more created for UCL sport in the upcoming year. There is so much potential and would love to be your voice and messenger to the Students Union!
