Spanish and Latin American Society: Treasurer

¡Hola a todos!

I’m Gonzalo Gallego Toscano, a second year BSc Statistics, Economics, and Finance student who’s had the privilege of serving as Treasurer for the Spanish and Latin American Society this past year. During this time, I’ve been fully immersed in the Society’s Events and Operations, meeting members' needs, refining budgets, and ensuring every event brought value and unity to our community.

This hands-on experience has been invaluable. I’ve learned how to stretch our resources further, collaborate effectively across different university cultural societies, and maintain clear financial oversight so everyone knows exactly where and how our funds are being used. Most importantly, I’ve seen firsthand how responsible budgeting can open the door to bigger, better, and more diverse cultural events. 

I’m running again because I firmly believe that the knowledge and relationships I’ve built this year put me in a unique position to make the next one even more impactful. Beyond my financial skills and commitment to transparency, I bring a multicultural background and fluency in Spanish, French, and English, tools that help me connect with a wide range of students and keep our Society open and welcoming.
