Running, Athletics and Cross Country Club: Treasurer

Hi, my name is Hassan and I’m in my second year studying Italian and Management Studies and I’m running for RAX Treasurer.

I’ve only joined RAX in my second year but after taking part in many of the social runs, BUCS Cardiff and the other socials organised by the committee, I wished I joined the club in my first year as I really like the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of this community and I always look forward to the runs.

Most of my management modules revolve around accounting (I’m very well experienced in Excel) and I’ve some work experience working in the financial sector and I wish to implement the skills learnt from these experiences in this role. Moreover, I have developed  organisational and collaborative skills by working as a Campus Ambassador for UCL and as a Welcome Crew during the Welcome Week with the SU, where I had to organise and coordinate events for students. Alongside that I have also developed my leadership and communication skills by being a student Rep for SELCS and the Events Officer for ASN, where I make sure students feel seen and heard and the events are accommodating towards them.

Even though the treasurer role is very admin based, I would also like to utilise my time and skills and help the other members and committee in the logistical aspect of creating events, volunteering and taking part in other racing events and leading social runs.

Hello RAX people!

I'm Akira and I will be running to be the Treasurer for RAX next year.

Last year I took on the role of Athletics Captain as an interim from the middle of term 1, gaining experience how to run the club by working alongside the current committee members. This included planning for varsity, contacting race organisers to get UCL involved in exciting events, and most importantly being present by showing up to races and training sessions. 

Building on this, I am confident that I have the necessary skills and leadership to take on the role of the Treasurer. I have spent two amazing years with this society, and I hope to make this an even more social, competitive and encouraging community for all who will be part of this society next year.
