Since joining medical school last year, I have embraced RUMS and the opportunities it has afforded me. Be it rugby, the boat club, or the MDs, I truly believe that RUMS is essential to UCLMS and its students, through welfare weeks, fresher events, and representing our views to the faculty staff.
It is this multifaceted role of treasurer of RUMS that draws me to apply. It is a role that proves vital in every aspect of achieving our goals for the year and requires someone who is not only responsible with money and large purchases but also someone who cares about and will represent the students in the best way possible.
My experience on the RUMS committee for the previous year has seen me organise the retro fleece order, where I dealt with thousands of pounds' worth of transactions, as well as organising over 100 individual customisations. This has required me to be organised and work in a professional manner with the supplier to achieve this. In addition, I have played a role in the organisation of Sportsball, working with the Sports and Societies VP to ensure good quality at an affordable price, demonstrating my ability to work within a budget. Finally, I have helped within the RUMS committee to design promotional posts for various events outside of my specified role in order to achieve higher sales of tickets.
I have enjoyed this previous year on the committee and would love to continue, this time in a role that has a wider impact within RUMS. Thank you for your consideration :)

Dermatology is an incredibly unique and exciting specialty, and I’ve loved being part of Dermatology Society this year as the Engagement Officer. In this role, I’ve worked closely with the committee to help facilitate events like the CPSA mock and promote opportunities for students to get involved. Through this experience, I’ve developed a strong understanding of how the society operates and built great working relationships with the team.
I would love the opportunity to continue contributing to Dermatology Society by stepping into the role of Treasurer. I am an organised, responsible, and detail-oriented person, but more than that, I genuinely care about making the society as engaging and accessible as possible. I work well with others, communicate effectively, and always bring a friendly, proactive approach to teamwork.
As Treasurer, I would ensure that the society’s finances are managed smoothly, helping to organise and expand events while keeping everything running efficiently. My goal is to support the society’s growth and make sure we can continue providing great opportunities for students interested in dermatology.
I’d love your support—thank you for considering me!
