RUMS Society: Raising and Giving Vice-President

Hi, I’m Dani, and I’m so excited to be running for RUMS Raising & Giving VP! Charity is at the heart of what we do as future doctors, and I believe RAG should be bigger, more inclusive, and more impactful than ever. If elected, I will ensure that fundraising is not just about donating, but about coming together as a medical school to make a real difference to the wider community.

My Goals:

1. Expanding RUMS RAG’s flagship events

• Bringing back SurgSoc’s Scrub Run as a RUMS-wide initiative, making it a large-scale event with more sponsorships and student participation.

• Increasing the number of charity social events, from themed nights to interactive fundraisers, to create more social events for those not in a RUMS sports club, while raising money!

2. Making fundraising accessible and student-focused

• Launching “Pay What You Want” Mock OSCEs, so years 2, 4, 5, 6 can benefit from revision while raising money.

• Running a clothes drive for local homeless and refugee communities, ensuring RUMS supports causes beyond financial donations.

• Partnering with different RUMS/UCL societies to create collaborative fundraising events throughout the year.

3. Ensuring student voices shape RAG

• Regular feedback opportunities on the charities RAG supports.

• More volunteering opportunities so students can get involved beyond just donating.

RUMS has an amazing community, and together, we can make RAG bigger, better, inclusive, and impactful. Vote for me, and let’s make a difference!
