RUMS Society: General Secretary

Hi, I’m Manasi, and I’m excited to run for RUMS General Secretary! I’m passionate about strengthening our community, and in this role, I aim to bridge the gap between you, the RUMS committee, and the resources that will help you thrive at UCL.

As General Secretary, I will:

• Enhance Communication: I’ll streamline updates through social media, newsletters, and a monthly bulletin to ensure you never miss important events or opportunities.
• Make RUMS Inclusive: I’ll organize diverse events, from pub quizzes to yoga sessions, ensuring all students, especially those in clinical years, stay connected and engaged.
• Increase Transparency: I’ll maintain a clear feedback loop, updating you on committee discussions and addressing concerns through group chats and newsletters.
• Listen to You: Your voice matters. I’ll actively seek your feedback to improve your medical school experience.

My experience on the RUMS Events Subcommittee has given me insight into this role’s demands. I’ve helped organize events like the Freshers' Pub Crawl, always striving to support our community. Additionally, serving as Sponsorship Officer for UCL Hindu Society and Mentorship Officer for WINS has strengthened my organisation and admin skills, preparing me to excel as RUMS General Secretary. Most importantly, I want to be approachable and reliable—someone you can count on throughout medical school.
