Rock and Metal Soc is finally here, and I'm excited to start bringing everyone together! As events officer, I would bring a variety of options to cater to everyone possible and keep the society true to the vision of inclusivity that the rock and metal community embraces.
It has been great meeting society members so far at our casual social events, and if elected I intend to keep these running on a regular basis to form a strong community of UCL rock and metal fans – we’re out there, it can just be hard to find each other sometimes! I also aim to organise other events that members have expressed support for, including fashion workshops, local gig attendance, and battle of the bands in collaboration with rock/metal societies at other London universities.
As both a mature student and an experienced live musician, and also one of the founding committee members of the rock and metal society, I am very familiar with the organisation required for such a role and thrive in such environments. The metal community has been a core part of most of my life, and I’m excited at the opportunity to not only bring other rock and metal fans together, but also to expand my own musical horizons and develop my own skills along the way.
