Amrit Rangi

I’m running for Sports Director because sports, especially football, have been a massive part of my life, and I want to bring that passion to UCL Punjabi Society. I’ve been at every session, match, and tournament, fully involved in the team, and I know how important sport is in bringing people together, and would like to carry that over to next year. In terms of experience and why I would be good for the role, I captained my Sunday League team, so I understand leadership, teamwork, and what it takes to keep things organised on and off the pitch. But I also know this role isn’t just about having passion for sports. As Head Prefect and Head of the School Council, I’ve had experience planning events, managing teams, and making sure things run smoothly. I want to bring that same organisation to the society. Furthermore, I want to help create a multi sport,( eg badminton and netball) society not just football, to ensure all members feel like they can be involved in the society outside of organised events. I would also be interested in bringing more traditional sports to the society such as Kabaddi, potentially even combined with other universities.

Jaspreet Sidhu

As an active and passionate member of UCL Punjabi Society, I want to bring our community together through sport. The Punjabi culture is deeply rooted in teamwork, competition, and camaraderie, and I believe sports provide the perfect platform to strengthen these bonds. By standing for Sports Director, I aim to make sports more inclusive, exciting, and a central part of our society’s activities.

What I Will Bring to the Role:

  • Regular Matches & Training – I will organise fixtures against other societies and book pitches for training, ensuring everyone has a fair chance to play.
  • Exciting New Sports – I will introduce new sports like kabaddi, badminton, and netball, alongside football, celebrating both traditional and modern games.
  • Increased Inclusivity – I will encourage female participation and arrange casual sports events, making sports accessible to all.
  • Seamless Organisation & Communication – I will ensure efficient bookings, team selections, and clear updates on all events.

I believe that I am well suited for this role because I am highly organised, proactive, and passionate about making a difference in Punjabi Society. My leadership skills, combined with my love for sports, make me the ideal candidate to take our society’s sports scene to the next level.
