Election post

I am passionate about Polish culture, which is why I would like to apply for the role of Events Coordinator for the Polish Society. As a native Polish speaker currently studying the Polish language at university, I have a deep connection to my heritage. I spent a year abroad in Poland, further immersing myself in the culture and language, which has enhanced my understanding and appreciation of Polish traditions.
Throughout my time at Jagiellonian, I have gained valuable experience organising and supporting events. I have helped organise events at my accommodation, such as Valentine’s Day games and movie nights, contributing ideas and assisting with the planning process. Additionally, I led the Polish-speaking club at UCL, where I organised weekly lessons and outings, including a visit to Mamuśka and a walking tour of London while teaching Polish vocabulary.
I would love to continue celebrating Polish traditions while introducing new events. Building on existing ones like Tłusty Czwartek, Polska Wigilia, and bar meet-ups, I would propose exciting new ideas, such as Student Thursdays, inspired by weekly celebrations in Poland, including Godzina Papiezowa. Additionally, I’d introduce Juwenalia for fun student competitions and performances, as well as Dzień Tańca Ludowego to celebrate folk dance. We could also observe Dzień Flagi with educational activities and host a special event for Chrzest Polski, exploring Polish history and culture.
