Election post

I am standing as Exhibition Officer within UCL’s Photography Society as I am passionate about photography as an artistic medium and art form, and I am very interested in how photography may reach other people and resonate with them, in exhibits.
I joined UCL’s Photography Society early on into my Master’s Program experience, last term, and I have met one of my close friends through the Society — Thanks to the Society’s Photography Walking Tour, my friend and I met, and the memories followed :)
As Exhibitions Officer within UCL’s Photography Society, my aim is to connect people, together, as well as with photography, through social spaces —
Photography holds such gorgeous ability to touch people’s souls and this is a tremendous opportunity for human connection and meaning-making, via art.
As Exhibitions Officer, my mission is to give space for people to engage with each other and photography, as the creative field that it is, inspiring them to take on the camera for their own explorations/creations.
Additionally, reaching out about ongoing exhibits within London as a whole, beyond UCL, is key, as Photography Society members get to see just how much photography exists in the urban art-realm.
I am excited at the opportunity to bring people together, through photography, and contribute to crafting memorable experiences for UCL’s Photography Society, as Exhibitions Officer.
Thank you very much — I am thrilled about the role!
Sincerely,
Roxane Carré
