Election post
Hi guys, me again! I’m honestly just as surprised as you are to see me here. I’ll keep this brief because I don't want this to be a whole lotta yap. For those of you that don’t know, I’ve had the privilege of being your leader this past year and it’s been so fun! I really enjoyed planning events and working with my lovely committee and I really could not have done it without them.
There were so many things that I wanted to make happen and did, like New Year’s party, academic events, and starting the football team (even though we aren’t in tip top shape…)! But there were so many things that didn’t happen due to logistical reasons (cough cough STEM Ball). I have been talking to other societies who felt the same way about how that fell apart, and we so want to make something special next year. Oh yes speaking of, I have been listening to the whispers about getting a Wii in the common room, and I’ll talk to Rebecca about that with the leftover budget — but you have to pinky promise that you won’t break it like the original whiteboard in there.
This past year, I have gotten a fab idea of how paperwork and SU approval works (it took so many rejections to get boat party going you have no idea), but honestly these events rerun and I now have a few contacts (yay), so it should be pretty easy to streamline event planning next year for you. I might even sprinkle in a few more if you don’t get too tired (but I did notice attendance has been slipping & that got 2 change)
