Election post

Musical Theatre and performing was always a rich aspect of my childhood, finding a solace in it I struggled to find anywhere else. However, once Covid hit I stopped performing and then never really got back into it - until this academic year.
Goodness am I glad I did.
Not only have I been able to be a part of incredible shows but I have also found a community in which I feel I fit and have a place. It was through the Gala that I was able to sing in front of people again after over three years! Now that I have I cannot wait for the next opportunity.
It would be an honour to give that to fellow students in the 2025/2026 academic year. Events Officer would allow me to be extremely proactive in the MT community, at the fore front of bringing in freshers through the freshers musical and encouraging anyone who may have drifted from the arts like I did to fall back in love with performing.
The position also holds a very unique way of networking within the community as it allows you to interact with different levels of involvement, from your dedicated stage stars to your dedicated choir singers. The role is effectively a connecting bridge between those involved in MT society which is crucial for keeping the society blooming and harmonious.
This is something that should never be lost and if I were to be elected Events Officer for the 2025/2026 academic year, I would ensure Musical Theatre remains a society for all performers to enjoy, no matter what you do.
