Music Society (RUMS): President

Hi!! I’m Maanvii and I’m running to be your RUMS Music President :) I hope to keep RUMS Music going as the chaotic, wholesome society it is whilst encouraging more people to join and engage.

RUMS Music has consistently been something I can look forward to going to in a course that can be incredibly draining, and I have met some of my closest friends there! I want to ensure that the society remains a little oasis of joy amongst the overwhelming course load of medschool.

So far I have loved being on committee as a community outreach officer this year, engaging with charities so that we can spread some musical love and expand our performance opportunities. Last year I also enjoyed arranging HTTYD for heartstrings, and would love to arrange some more music next year :) I’ve also recently enjoyed helping to plan the Accarhythmia tour and social (with the amazing Daivi!!), and I hope next year to do more regular whole-society socials e.g. film night!

Being in 2 of the 4 society ensembles gives me lots of exposure to our society members, and most importantly your opinions! My other musical experiences in the wider music community, such as larger orchestras and choirs, has given me insight to how we can expand and continue to grow in the future. 

Most importantly, though, I’m incredibly passionate about RUMS Music and all its members, and I would love the chance to work with the committee to ensure everyone gets to experience the fun and support RUMS Music provides all year round!
