I am standing as Multicultural Society President, as I identify as multicultural, having lived in four different cities, and countries, throughout my life — I believe that the Multicultural Society holds a tremendous place at UCL as a home for all multicultural students.
The multicultural experience is a very rich one, and whether you identify as a Third Culture Kid (with more than one place as your home, or none, even) or multicultural from one country outside the UK, the Multicultural Society is a welcoming, warm, and dynamic place for any/all multicultural person(s).
Leading the Multicultural Society as President is an exciting role and one with big responsibility — As President, I am eager to ensure that all multicultural people at UCL know about the Society’s existence, and feel that they are able to be an active part of it.
To do so, working closely with the Events Manager, the Welfare Officer, and the Communications Officer, within the Society, is needed to ensure smooth run ~
Examples of Multicultural Society events with me as President include:
• A Social Hang / Meet & Greet at each term’s start.
• A lively WhatsApp group, with a schedule of events that are on and upcoming activities to join and be a part of and meet other Multicultural students / peers.
• A Potluck Dinner at the end of every term, where Multicultural Society members bring a food from their home country, and share about its meaning.
Thank you very much — I am thrilled about the role!
Sincerely,
Roxane Carré
