I am standing for Head of Sewing because I want to deepen my involvement in MODO.

My passion for sewing began as a personal hobby. I’ve always loved fashion, so I taught myself to sew. I was lucky enough to be a designer for the 2025 MODO show, which deepened my interest in sewing and gave me valuable insight into the designing process. I believe the skills I developed as a designer would make me well-equipped to help future designers with their collections.

I understand that the position of Head of Sewing requires strong leadership skills. Last year in high school, I strengthened these skills through two key roles. As class representative, I acted as a bridge between my classmates and the staff, ensuring concerns were addressed. As editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, I managed a team of 20 people, setting deadlines and ensuring timely publication. This often meant chasing up journalists and enforcing rules on sourcing. These experiences improved my ability to lead a team, communicate decisions, and handle challenges confidently.

My problem-solving skills were also tested during the 2025 MODO show when a model dropped out the night before. I had to adjust the outfit last minute to fit a different model, reinforcing my ability to stay calm under pressure.

Being a designer for the 2025 show was incredibly rewarding, and it inspired me to take on a bigger role in MODO. I’m passionate about the society and excited about the opportunity to contribute to future MODO events.
