Niya Alias

Participating in UCL Malayali societies and those around London have kept my bond to my heritage and helped me make friendships I value dearly. Taking a bigger role would allow me to engage with more people and the new freshers. I'm excited to bring my experience with other societies to this to organise the new events.

As Treasurer, I would ensure the society’s finances are handled responsibly, managing budgets, and allocating funds. My organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively will help manage these responsibilities but also contribute to all the society events.

I am eager to contribute to the society’s growth and foster a strong sense of community among Malayalis at UCL.

Jerin Joychan

I am standing for the position of Treasurer because I am excited about building on the success of Malayali Society and taking it to new levels next year.

As a first-year, I have seen how valuable the society has been in creating a strong sense of community, where I have felt genuinely welcomed. Events such as Onam and Thilakam this year have been fantastic in bringing our community together, and I hope to enhance events like these even further to create more unforgettable memories. My deep interest in finance and budgeting motivates me to ensure that the society’s resources are used effectively to bring the most value to our members. By managing the society’s finances efficiently, next year, I want to coordinate more ambitious events, exciting collaborations, and expand the reach of Malayali Society.

With your support, I am eager to take on the responsibility of Treasurer and ensure that next year is the most exciting and successful one yet for Malayali Society.

Neha Suresh

As a current First-Year Representative, I have had the opportunity to work alongside my peers to plan and come up with cultural and social events to bring our community together. This experience has deepened my passion for enhancing the Malayali presence at UCL and has also given me valuable insight into the importance of financial planning for successful events.

I am eager to contribute further as Treasurer by ensuring that the society has the financial resources needed to make our ideas happen. With prior leadership experience and a strong mathematical background, I am confident in my ability to manage budgets effectively, track expenses, and collaborate with the President and Vice President to secure funding. I am committed to ensuring that the society’s finances are well-managed and transparent, allowing us to continue growing and organizing impactful events. I look forward to the opportunity to help the society thrive in the coming year.
