Election post

Over the last year this society has participated in a lot of events. Many collaborating with other universities. While I have enjoyed many of these, including the Q&A with former Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock, they often required traveling to, and therefore, not many of our members were in attendance. Additionally, we have significantly lacked on canvassing sessions and socials - events which maintain the membership of our party. So what do I aim to do to solve these issues?

  1. Produce a clear timetable of events and post it on our social media accounts to ensure members are aware of events and have fair opportunity to plan ahead
  2. Participate in regular campaigning sessions locally - getting involved with Labour Students, London Young Labour and local Constituency Labour Parties
  3. Fortnightly social events - including non-alcoholic events
  4. Continue tours of parliament and speaker events -  with people from a range of charities, think tanks and within the Labour Party
  5. Keep these events as close to campus as possible while still collaborating with other universities

These aims will, of course, be subject to popular demand ensuring I stay accountable throughout my term.

Thank you for reading this far, if you want local, scheduled and varied events vote Joe Thomas.
