Minyoung Kim

Hi, my name is Minyoung Kim, a second-year MSci Human Genetics student! I am running for the position of Language Officer to improve the structure and effectiveness of our Korean language program. Currently, we offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced lessons twice a week, but tutors independently choose lesson topics, leading to inconsistency. If elected, I will introduce a structured curriculum to ensure balanced coverage of grammar, conversation, and cultural topics, making it easier for learners to track their progress. Additionally, I will work closely with tutors to provide clear teaching guidelines while maintaining flexibility for creativity. To enhance engagement, I plan to organize interactive themed conversation sessions and structured language exchange events, creating more opportunities for members to practice in real-life contexts. As the current Treasurer, I have developed strong organizational and leadership skills, which I will use to improve lesson coordination and provide a better learning experience. My background in an international school and multilingual environment has given me a deep understanding of language learning challenges, and I am committed to making Korean lessons more accessible, engaging, and effective. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] with any questions. Vote for me to bring clear structure and engaging lessons to our society!

Guyhyun Lee

Hello,
I’m Guyhyun, Lee, a data science major with a strong enthusiasm for analytical problem-solving and a deep commitment to Korean language education. As an applicant for the Language Officer role in the Korean Culture Society, my goal is not just to organize our Korean teaching materials but to transform our approach using data-informed strategies

1. Establishing a Structured Resource Organization System utilizing digital education sources

I will employ data analysis methods to effectively organize and categorize our current Korean language materials.
By sorting resources based on themes, difficulty levels, learning goals, and other relevant factors, I aim to ensure that every member can effortlessly locate the materials they need.
Also, I will gather not only scanned textbooks but also digital education sources, such as short-form videos, that are beneficial for Korean language education.

2. Utilizing Data for Continuous Evaluation and Improvement

I plan to collect and analyze data on how our resources are used, alongside feedback and learning outcomes, to regularly evaluate their effectiveness.
These insights will guide me in implementing ongoing updates and enhancements to our teaching materials, ultimately creating a more dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Furthermore, since my major is related to database systems, I can leverage them to streamline data management.
