Election post
Hi Everyone! As your current president, I have worked closely with all committee members and led all aspects of Kinesis, including helping our current Managing Podcast Editor organize and lead the podcast subcommittee. From day one, I was involved in interviewing subcommittee members, as well as later deciding topics, reshuffling teams, and attending weekly update meetings with podcast directors, along with participating in a recent recording session.
This year, my experience as president has demonstrated my ability to responsibly manage a large team (15 committee members!) while making quantifiable achievements and progress compared to previous years.
I really enjoyed coleading the autonomous podcast team this year, and I see a lot of potential to expand it. After taking feedback from current members and directors, I have many concrete ideas to make the Kinesis podcast team even more successful next year:
- Forming two teams early in the year so members build familiarity by working closely in smaller groups
- Giving teams and podcast directors more creative freedom in choosing episode topics, fostering more creativity
- Setting a regular upload schedule and clear episode production timeline to enhance audience engagement
- Setting clear episode length guidelines to improve audience retention and completion rates (e.g. we can split a long interview into multiple episodes and upload them at intervals)
- Hosting more subcommittee socials to foster a stronger sense of team and community
