Why I’m Running
As the current Vice-President of the UCL Kazakh Society, I have had the privilege of working closely with our team to create a welcoming and engaging community. Over the past year, I helped organize major events, including the Central Asian Spring Festival and attend the meeting with members of the Kazakh embassy, strengthening our cultural presence and diplomatic ties. Now, I am ready to take on the role of President to further grow our society, enhance our connections, and promote Kazakh culture in the UK.
My Vision: A Stronger, More Connected Community
- Build on our successful events by expanding collaborations with Kazakh and Central Asian student societies across the UK.
- Organize more networking opportunities with Kazakh professionals, alumni, and diplomatic representatives.
- Leverage our existing ties with the Kazakh embassy to promote cultural initiatives and public events.
- Host larger-scale events, such as film screenings, music nights, and academic panels to introduce Kazakh culture to a wider audience.
- Strengthen our mentorship program to help new Kazakh students integrate into UCL academically and socially.
- Provide career support through CV workshops, speaker events, and internship connections with Kazakh and international firms.
- Increase membership by reaching out to both Kazakh and non-Kazakh students interested in our culture.
- Strengthen ties with other Kazakh societies across the UK and beyond for joint initiatives.
Why Vote for Me?
I have already contributed to the growth of our
I am running for Kazakh Society president because I believe I can take the society to the next level of engaging Kazakh and non-Kazakh students in events, socials, charity and celebrations of our culture. I want to change the narrative that Kazakh students in UCL and London primarily engage in bar and club nights, and to bring the community together for various other reasons. By establishing a connection with Filipino and Indonesian Soc this year I also think that the society would be able to share its culture on a broader scale through more collaborations, which I will be able to deliver as president.
