Hi everyone, I’m Michael, a 2nd-year Mechanical Engineering undergraduate, and I’m excited to announce my candidacy to continue as Captain of UCL Karting Club!
Last season, we made history with UCL’s first-ever championship podium in the British Universities Karting Championship (BUKC) - 3rd in Intermediate class. This year, we’ve gone even further, qualifying 2 teams into the highly competitive Clubman class. With half the season completed, we’ve secured podiums in every single round, including a victory, and UCL A team currently leads the Clubman championship! Our journey proves the team’s incredible potential, and I’m determined to build on this momentum.
With two years of professional racing experience and ongoing involvement with top racing teams in the prestigious British Kart Championship, I’ve gained invaluable insights into racing strategies, driver coaching and team management. I’m committed to applying these learnings to push UCL teams to even greater heights.
Within the club, I’ve always worked to foster a collaborative and high-performance environment, ensuring that every driver - whether a seasoned competitor or a newcomer - feels supported and empowered to improve. I have the dedication, and passion to not only guide our drivers in refining their skills but also to motivate and push beyond their personal limits.
