Hello, I am Jamie, a second-year Biochemistry student! I love Japanese food, culture, anime and music, so I travel to Japan almost every year —and there’s still so much more I want to explore! I've joined Japan Society since year 1 cos I'm always excited to meet the people who shared the same passion!

I am running for Language Officer because I want to maintain the high standards of Japanese classes and Nihongo Socials.

Why me

  • Enthusiasm for Japanese classes
    • I've attended every Level 1–2 classes last year and every Level 3 class this year, so I want to improve the classes and help more people benefit from them.
    • From a student's perspective, I understand how easy (or difficult) the content is and whether the teaching is engaging., so I can provide useful feedback and suggestions to teachers.
  • Sub-committee experience
    • Last year, I helped run various events and contributed to committee meetings, so I understand how things are organised in Japan Society, giving me the confidence to ensure Japanese classes run smoothly.

Goals

  • More interactions between students and teachers
    • More chances for students to express their ideas and creativity.
    • Encourage more conversations in the group chats.
    • Reward students who participate by giving out snacks!
  • More inclusive for all
    • Make Nihongo Socials easier for the people with zero Japanese knowledge.
    • Let students from higher levels to help students from lower levels.
    • Collaboration with other uni (KCL, ICL).

Vote for me please!!
