Candidates

Mehrafarin Sayyadi

My motivation for standing for this position stems from a genuine passion for fostering a supportive and inclusive community where every member feels valued within the warm cultural setting of the society.
As an Iranian international student, I understand firsthand how crucial it is to have a strong support system in place when one is navigating cultural differences and an entirely new environment. By organizing wellness and cultural events, I hope to make all members feel valued, heard, and supported, just as they deserve!
I understand how frustrating it is to constantly speak in one's second language, or not have a chance to practice speaking Persian; so I'll ensure that in such events members feeI welcome and comfortable enough to express themselves however they see fit.
By standing for this role, I hope to bring ideas and initiatives that promote connection and support within our community. I hope that together, we can create a comforting environment, while exploring our rich and complex culture. Thank you for considering my candidacy; I look forward to serving you as your Welfare Officer.

Bahar Mortazavizadeh

Having been part of the society for the past two years, I have truly seen how much it brings people together and creates a sense of belonging for the Persian community at UCL. I would love the opportunity to contribute to its continued success as Welfare Officer. My goal is to ensure that it remains a welcoming and supportive space where everyone feels included, heard, and valued. I am committed to maintaining the society’s strong sense of community and providing opportunities for all Persian students to connect, celebrate our culture, and support one another. I hope to take on this role to help the society thrive and continue to be the platform that brings us all together.

Dorsa Nasimi

I am passionate about fostering a positive, supportive and inclusive environment where every society member feels valued. As a Youth Advisory Board member at the Let Me Know charity I gained the tools to recognise and address wellbeing issues, as well as how to empower others to build healthy relationships and I believe these make me an ideal candidate.

I’d be honoured to help make your experience in the Iranian Society even better :)
