What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
  • I led my school’s International Committee in actively helping international students adjust to a new environment by creating transition programs, organising numerous social eventsinternational food markets, and a 2-day cultural showcase!
  • Highly effective at working with a team and making sure the interests of international students are not just heard but acted upon.
  • Extensive leadership experience, such as chairing a student club with nearly 100 members, affording me strong delegation skills, the ability to get things done efficiently, and a commitment to improve on feedback from students.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
  • Revamping International Orientation Week with international socials and day trips.
  • Expanding the Mentorship Program for international freshers, including meetups on essential topics (eg navigating UK banking) and peer-led guidance on adjustment.
  • Introducing Monthly Cultural Nights in collaboration with cultural societies, co-hosting live performances, traditional arts workshops, and international food tastings.
  • Cultural Fusion Events for sharing cultural skills.
  • Career Support - connecting students with international alumni, mentorship, industry-specific panels, and tailored job-seeking resources.

Having faced many of the same challenges moving away from home, I know the importance of strong support. My experience directly advocating for international student interests positions me to make the international student experience here welcoming and enriching. International students deserve effective advocates on campus and the resources necessary to thrive off campus. Stronger support, richer culture, better opportunities - with your vote, I’ll work tirelessly to make these changes a reality!
