Haloo semuanyaa! I’m Laura, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student, and hopefully your future UCLIS vice president. I love to try out different foods around campus (current mission: to try each stall of the Thursday farmer’s market) and run at Regent’s to balance it out.

Moving 11,078 km away from home, it was hard to find a sense of belonging, but that's where UCLIS came in! From the chill gatherings to the day trip to Brighton, UCLIS has played a huge role in making me comfortable with living so far away, and I hope to do the same for the upcoming year.

I plan to create UCLIS not just a place for Indonesians to connect, but also an escape when UCL starts to really act like a global top 9 university. This would include more movie nights, fun karaoke sessions, and many more! I also plan to promote Indonesian culture to the UCL community through Indonesian cultural fair, and Indonesian movie night to promote Indonesia's incredible cinema, including our very own pride and joy Nicholas Saputra.

Having leadership experiences in high school including head of public relations at WeMatter as well as the welfare division of my school’s student council, I believe I have the qualities a vice president should embody, including leadership, persistence, and commitment. I am eager to foster a warm community where not only our members, but any attendee of our events feels welcomed while increasing our society’s presence on campus.

Ubur ubur ikan lele,

Jangan lupa vote for Laura ya le!!
