I am standing for the role of president of UCL's Indonesian Society for three main reasons:

First, my Indonesian identity means the world to me. Because of this, I have always aspired to become a representative for Indonesia abroad and strengthen our global presence through showcasing Indonesia's charm authentically, enticingly, and honorably. Of course, we all start somewhere, and I believe becoming the president of UCL's Indonesian Society is a good step to take in realizing this aspiration.

Second, I value soft skills, like leadership, teamwork, creativity, time management, and problem-solving. What better way to grow in these areas than through running an organization? I recognize the responsibility this role carries, but I also know the value of the knowledge and experience I can receive later. That's why it is important to me that I seek this learning in every opportunity I am presented with. I am eager to contribute innovative ideas and apply my past experiences to serve the society well.

Lastly, as an international student far away from home, finding a supportive community has been essential to me. The UCL Indonesian Society has provided me a home away from home, and I want to play a big part in paying that warmth forward by helping foster that safe space where everyone feels welcomed, connected, and celebrated. Having felt the difference belonging can make, I am committed to creating a meaningful legacy of support as the next president of UCL's Indonesian Society <3
