Election post
I am excited to apply for the role of Head of Sports for UCL Indian Society, bringing both experience and passion for sports to the position. I have been actively involved in a wide range of sports both inside and outside of university, giving me the knowledge and network to successfully coordinate and expand the society’s sporting activities.
As a dedicated member of RUMS CC, I am already well-integrated within UCL’s sports scene, which will be invaluable when organizing fixtures. My connections within university sports teams could definitely help organise internal fixtures, such as matchups between RUMS and the Indian Society, bringing a stronger sporting culture within the community.
Beyond university, I have prior experience in a similar role, having successfully organized charity sporting events and fundraisers between different schools in our network. This has given me the logistical and leadership skills necessary to handle inter-society and inter-university games, while also working with the treasurer and sponsorship director to secure funding for new kits etc.
I not only want to enhance football fixtures, but also establish regular cricket and netball teams and other sports beyond that - I'm committed to making Indian Society sports bigger, better, and more inclusive. As the biggest Indian society in the UK, we should have a sporting scene to match that and I'm ready to bring my experience and organizational skills to the role.
