The role of the Social Secretary aligns with the experience I have in organising events and managing logistics. I was the lead organiser for GIIS Model United Nation and GIIS Youth TEDx for my school. TEDx required reaching out to corporate speakers and lecturers at prominent universities and reaching out to external vendors for the AV team, food catering, T-shirt printing, etc. The professional scale of the event allowed me to hone the proper etiquette, diligence and responsibility required while interacting with vendors and running the event on the day. This skill can be applied to interacting with the student union and external vendors (like in the case of the trip to watch wicked) to balance their demands with ours as a club. To work around time slots they may provide for the welcome fair or any other constraint !

Importantly however when organising events such as the welcome fair and cultural fair a level of enthusiasm is important to encourage people to join the society and come to the weekly classes. This is what worked for me, when I first interacted with this club during the welcome fair it was the current Social Sec (Neel) who's enthusiasm towards the club encouraged me to join, after which it became a regular part of my week. This motivation is something I hope to replicate. I believe my experience can add value to the Indian dance society committee while the memories and friendships in the committee can add value to me.
