Two years ago, our society was on the verge of collapse after being ousted from the official arms UNICEF UK. Despite that, as treasurer of this society, I've seen us rise past all the obstacles in our way, raising a record amount for children's charity both the year before and this year, cumulating in a silver society development award.
Looking back on this fruitful year, I see one consistent accomplishment for our society. A definitive expansion into both external children's charities & collaborations with other UCL societies. Building upon our foundations, we've extended the reach of our charity efforts to numerous UK based organizations like the NSPCC and Kids Network, an effort that I proudly help lead. Moreover, we collaborated with over 13 distinct societies thanks to the effort of our amazing committee, offering new volunteering experiences for all members.
I wish to build upon our momentum for the coming year. A consolidation of outreach efforts, through the finalization of a societal name change, an effort over a year in the works, to cement and expand our existing network of UK-based charity partners. Most importantly, I wish to stand for Greater Inclusion of our members in societal activities. By opening-up our weekly committee meetings while standardizing fundraising events planning through templates, I believe inclusion will give our society the required strength to help more of those in-need.
This year was our year of growth, next will be a year of triumphant.

My first ever members-only social was a disaster. I spent hours choosing the perfect date, carefully selecting a movie I thought everyone would enjoy and crafting multi-coloured popcorn cones. But when the time came, only one person showed up.
For many, this experience might have been discouraging. It would have been easy to question my place in the society. But I knew that one poorly attended event did not define my capabilities or the potential of what we could achieve. Instead, I focused on what mattered: my passion, reliability and resilience, qualities I have continued to embody in every task I have taken on within the society since. I have never confined myself to the limits of my role, always stepping up when needed and acting in the best interests of our community.
Over the past year, I have organised successful socials, managed the social media, helped with fundraising, and even planned my own large-scale fundraiser, bringing together seven different societies across UCL. None of this would have been possible without the incredible team I have had the privilege of working with.
That is exactly why I am running for President. I aim to build a dedicated and dependable team, expanding our reach to more local and international charities to drive impactful volunteering and fundraising efforts. Our shared passion will inspire others, strengthen our community, and elevate our society to new heights.
Together, let's create something truly special.
