As a History student I appreciate this society as well as the events that have been organized this school year and I wish to be a part of the amazing team running the society. I want to bring more History Society events to the UCL campus, while also collaborating with other groups. I want to plan quiz bowls/ pub quiz style events, while also bringing some calmer ones such as historical movie nights or bookshop crawls. Societies are the backbone of UCL and I have many more ideas that could be implemented into making this society continue to grow.

Jay Cheng

Hi, my name is Jay. I'm Cantonese-American, and I'm a first-year student studying History and Politics of the Americas. You may have already seen my other nomination for vice president, but I am also running for events officer because I think that there is so much that can be done. Being in a historic city such as London, my primary goal is to organize events that explore the city. Of course, I would also love to see what events are already popular and aim to continue them the following year, especially any start-of-year events to help new freshers settle in. I have experience in working with venues and with other logistical elements from other committees in the past, which I think will help us secure more attractive venues. Collaboration is also one of my strengths, and hosting joint events with other societies is another goal of mine. However, most importantly, I wish to hear what all of you would like to see and do, and I'll work to make them into reality. Being aware and accepting of suggestions, I believe, is one of my strengths. I hope you vote for me, for a more exciting History society next year. Thank you.
