Rishabh Upadhyay

Hi everyone, my name is Rishabh, and I am a first-year Economics student running to be next year’s UCL Hindu Society Treasurer.

Being an FYR has been a significant part of my university experience, allowing me to connect with incredible people and gain valuable insights into the society’s operations. Working closely with the committee has helped me understand what it takes to elevate events like Garba, the Diwali Ball, and Rangeela from good to great.

I believe the Treasurer role aligns best with my skill set. My experience in the finance sector as an off cycle intern and then as Assistant Treasurer for EconSoc has taught me how best to handle finances and also handle Student Union regulations.

Beyond managing finances, the Treasurer also supports the President and oversees internal and external relations. My leadership experience as head boy, where I organised a charity ball for 300 people that raised nearly £3,000, has honed my managerial and communication skills—essential for coordinating society events smoothly.

UCL Hindu Society has significantly enriched my university life, and I am eager to give back by contributing to its growth and success. I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to serve as Treasurer and help enhance the experience for all members next year.
