I am applying for this role because I want to help grow our Hindu Society to make it more engaging and welcoming for all.
I have experience in marketing and social media management from organising RAG Week at my secondary school where I successfully promoted events, increasing engagement and ensuring high participation. I understand the importance of a strong marketing strategy in bringing people together and I want to use my skills to make sure our society’s events reach as many people as possible.
As Marketing Officer, I would focus on making the UCL HSOC social media more dynamic, creative and interactive using engaging content, eye-catching graphics and clear communication to promote events. I will also work on reaching out to more student across UCL to grow our community and ensure everyone feels welcome whether they’re looking for cultural events, religious celebrations, or just a great group of people to connect with.
I am passionate to share the cultural side of Hinduism and I would love the opportunity to showcase everything the society has to offer. With my creativity, experience, and enthusiasm, I know I can make our marketing bigger, better, and more engaging than ever.

Hi, my name is Samyuktha (everyone calls me Sam) and I am a first year medical student.
I use TikTok and Instagram regularly as I really enjoy posting on social media and have become very experienced at it in the process. I am also quite good at photo and video editing as I use this a lot to post, particularly dumps after nights out on Instagram and videos of me singing on both platforms. I am also a good team leader and will be able to comfortably communicate with the marketing and sales officers to pump out a series of engaging TikToks, posts and stories to promote Hindu Society events and engage uni students. I would take inspiration from trends circulating at the time, like the suspect trend on TikTok, and twist them to fit the event which we are promoting. I also understand it requires work over the summer, which I am more than happy to do.
In terms of Hinduism, over the years I have come to really value the religion as a way to give me discipline or comfort in hard times. I go to a camp at a temple in Birmingham every year for a week during the summer, which has really helped me learn more about my religion and reap the benefits. This is why being part of Hindu Society committee would mean a lot to me. I have enjoyed Hindu Society's events this year a great deal, particularly Garba and Mehendi Night, and I would love to be part of promoting them!
Thank you so much for your time,
Samyuktha :)

Hi, I’m Angelina, and I’d like to run for Head of Marketing! Art has always been a passion of mine, and my background in GCSE Art has strengthened my visual design and photography skills, enabling me to communicate messages with creativity and artistic flair. Additionally, my experience with social media and editing platforms such as Adobe and Canva equips me with the ability to create high-quality, visually-appealing content that enhances event visibility and captivates our audience. As an active TikTok user, I recognise the immense potential of this platform in expanding our reach. Staying up-to-date with the latest trends allows me to generate innovative content ideas that will boost engagement and attract a wider audience. Beyond creativity, I understand that strong organisational and time management skills are essential for this role, which I am fully committed to demonstrating. Leading group projects in the past has also refined my delegation skills, enabling me to assign tasks strategically based on each other's strengths to achieve the best outcomes - an approach I intend to bring to this role. My vision is to enhance the publicity of UCL Hindu Society, broadening its outreach while fostering an inclusive environment that welcomes individuals of all cultures and beliefs. Most importantly, this society has given me wonderful memories and lifelong friendships, and I look forward to becoming a part of this community and making lasting contributions. Thank you!
