The Hiking Club is one of my biggest highlights of Year 1. Meeting new people, travelling to new places in the UK, and challenging myself on hikes have helped me grow as a person. I would love to carry this forward through a role in the Hiking Committee, working with fellow hiking enthusiasts to ensure that future UCL students have a great hiking experience as I have had. Moreover, I can contribute to the club by channelling my passion for hiking into tangible work through my communication skills, teamwork mindset, and work ethic.

I am particularly drawn to the role of Welfare and Outreach Officer where I can help create an inclusive hiking community. My previous experience managing social media and working as Head of Volunteers for a mental health charity has given me insight into promoting wellbeing and creating safe spaces for people to connect. I'm passionate about ensuring everyone feels welcome regardless of hiking experience or background.

As Welfare and Outreach Officer, I would focus on expanding Project Active to introduce more students to the club. I would work with charitable organizations for meaningful fundraising initiatives that align with our values. I would also work to make our hikes accessible to diverse student groups. Having personally experienced how hiking improved my university experience, I'm committed to extending these benefits to as many UCL students as possible while ensuring every member feels supported and valued within our community.

Hi I’m Natasha, and I am a walk leader and first aider within the club. You may have seen me around during our hikes. I am eager to contribute to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members.

I would like to organize charity walks on select weekends, specifically aimed at supporting environmental organizations such as the WWF and the Woodland Trust. As hikers, we are fortunate to enjoy the beauty of the natural world, and it is important that we take an active role in preserving and protecting it. I believe this initiative would allow us to contribute to environmental conservation.

In addition, I want to organize fundraising events such as bake sales and gear swaps.

I am hopefully about the possibility of working together to create a difference for our society.
