Hellohello fellow hikers! 🥾
Great to see you want to vote for the future of this great club!
About me:
- I love being outside (whether walking, chatting or napping)
- Which is why I study Geography (currently Y1)
- I want to be your new Residential Officer! 🥳
I think I would be good at it because I ...
- have planned quite a lot of really fun, successful hiking trips all over Europe and the UK,
- love organizing,
- have been working in logistics for teams of 50+ ppl in remote areas before (in the film industry),
- am aware of the extent of work for this new position and am ready to pave the road for the ones following me,
- want to carry on Will’s good example of great residentials,
- Simply want to have more exciting trips with you guys!
As your residential officer, I want
- 1-2 residentials per term, so everybody will get the chance of joining at least one,
- A residential just for walk leaders (let’s get on those challenging hikes of 50+k?!),
- At least one international residential in the summer (ideas would be: Triglav/Slovenia, Pyrenées/France, Spain, Făgăraș/Romania, …),
- To keep the residentials as affordable as possible,
- Your input on where to go! Let us discover your favourite hiking area :D
This year’s Hiking Club Committee has been incredibly amazing at welcoming me and everyone to the Club and at ensuring everyone is enjoying their time - may it be at day hikes, residential or socials. I want to carry this spirit into the next year!
I am looking forward to seeing You soon on a hike /

Hi, I’m applying to become Residential Officer because attending a residential has been one of my best experiences thus far at UCL. I really enjoy the warm community that exists in the hiking society and I’d like to be part of organising and hopefully expanding something that brings so many people together to enjoy the beauty of nature.
If elected residential officer,
• I would like to introduce an annual residential aimed at members new to hiking.
Hiking can be very intimidating, particularly for those who are just beginning so
These new residentials would prioritise on shorter, easier routes, which could be done without specialist equipment or knowledge, ideal for beginners.
• I would like to experiment with organising shorter, in-term 1-2 night residentials, in order to access areas too far for day trips.
These trips would likely be far smaller, giving a unique close-knit experience.
I grew up hiking with family and one of my passions over the last few years has been organising my own trips with friends, introducing the people around me to how enjoyable hiking truly is. I have researched and coordinated trips for up to 11 people, learning how to manage crises when they arise and how to stay flexible, changing routes and itineraries. I have also learnt the importance of effective and clear communication when managing large and at times inexperienced groups. If elected as residential leader will aim to continue reaching out and making sure everyone feels welcome.
