William Antcliff

Hey hikers! I’m William, and I’m running to be the first official club Magazine Editor.

Having been an active member of the club for the past two years—most recently as Vice President, which previously acted as Lead Residential Organiser—I’m passionate about making our community even more vibrant. With extensive experience in graphic design (backed by a GCSE from 2016! 🤣), I’ve previously rebranded the University of Bristol Magic Society as Secretary during my undergraduate degree (UG), leading it to its most successful year. I’ve also created public media posts for volunteer organisations, including event posters and digital art.

Beyond visuals, I have a strong writing background, having produced blogs, event reports, social media posts, etc. throughout my UG, PhD and other personal activities. Whether it’s crafting engaging trip write-ups or immortalising club adventures, I’ll ensure our magazine is exciting, creative, and uniquely ours. Furthermore, this role is also the perfect opportunity for me to further develop my branding skills and expand my expertise in digital art and media software—enhancing both my creative abilities and the club magazine's quality. And, of course, no edition will be complete without the finest memes tailored to our club and its members, which I have plenty of experience in making! 👀

Vote for me to keep the magazine as fun, dynamic, and unforgettable as our hikes!

Tiffany Fu

I’m Tiffany, a first-year History student! I joined UCL Hiking to marvel at picturesque English sceneries but stayed for the community :) I'm a lover of journals and anything creative, so I’d love to work on the Navigator as Magazine Editor!

Skills and Experience

  1. Chief Editor of my school’s annual creative magazine
  • Led a team of over 50 and oversaw the creation process of the magazine. From article writing, design,  interviews, to publishing and marketing, I got it all covered.
  • Our edition sold out for the first time in 30 years!
  1. Editorial roles
  • Current editor for the UCL Diplomacy Review
  • Former Core Editor at Hong Kong's largest youth-led non-profit, where I coordinated articles for our magazine!
  1. Canva!
  • Designer for various magazines. I also designed social media posts for a non-profit!
  • Published a newspaper for my high school’s MUN conference with Canva

Plans

  1. Furthering community engagement
  • Interactive quizzes, personal stories, creative works, memes, recipes and moodboards
  • Themed seasonal special editions (e.g. a Spring or Autumn special)
  • Introducing hiking hotspots outside of UCL Hiking, or even the UK?
  • Keeping readers informed about important upcoming events!
  • News section where the editorial team randomly interviews hikers during our hikes!
  1. Printed editions of the Navigator
  • The magazine looks too good to just be digital - printed editions would definitely be a plus! I know a publisher in Hong Kong so I really hope I can make this possible :)
