Hi, I’m Radu, a 4th-year medical student passionate about HeMP. Throughout my course, I have come to realise that healthcare management and policy have a greater impact on population health than the quality of doctors alone. This belief was all but solidified by my intercalation in Management at Imperial which fuelled my desire to drive change in healthcare through engagement, debate, and tangible action.
Why vote for me?
✅ Continue promoting student engagement in policy and leadership through insightful speakers and visits to the parliament
✅ Organise more events like The Great NHS Debate focused on exploring healthcare’s biggest challenges in a cross-disciplinary manner à the HeMP Hackathon
✅Develop a career advice programme consisting of detailed mentoring talks and workshops aimed primarily at the medical students looking to grow their careers beyond clinical practice
Why I’m Qualified:
🔹Experienced Leader – 10+ committee roles across medical school
🔹 Conference Executive (iNUGSC 2023) – Managed logistics, stakeholders & budget for the UK’s largest student-led surgical conference
🔹 My intercalation and portfolio career journey have connected me with leaders in medicine, policy, and business – a network which I will leverage to elevate HeMP
Let’s push boundaries together – vote Radu for HeMP President!

Hi, I’m Shreya, a medical student with an iBSc in Management from Imperial and a deep passion for healthcare management and policy.
As President of UCL Healthcare Management & Politics Society, I aim to provide consistent, high-quality opportunities for members to expand their knowledge, develop key skills, and build strong professional networks.
My initiatives will include networking sessions at two levels—informal peer mentorship with older students and recent graduates, and formal discussions with healthcare leaders, policymakers, and consultants to help members set both short- and long-term career goals.
I will expand speaker panels and industry discussions, strengthening collaborations with MedTech, Consulting, and Entrepreneurship societies for interdisciplinary events.
To enhance professional development, I will introduce CV workshops, case study sessions, and a “Med+” email service providing exclusive updates on internships, research opportunities, and industry events.
As Editorial Lead at Doctorpreneurs, a global organisation, I have successfully built a network of medical professionals turned entrepreneurs, allowing me to bring in influential speakers and industry connections. This, in addition to my strong leadership and team working skills put me in good stead for the role of president.
I am committed to bringing enthusiasm, consistency, and strong leadership to this role, ensuring that we organise inspirational events and schemes throughout the year.

As president, HeMP's next chapter will be centred around the idea "but what can I do?". We will be a society that empowers students to take control of their future and make their voice heard by:
-
Putting HeMP on the map as the London hub for students across disciplines interested in health management and politics, bringing together students from diverse backgrounds, driving meaningful discussions and connections.
-
In addition we will leverage UCL facilities such as the Global Business School for Health, the Canary Wharf School of Management and the Department of Political Science to strengthen HeMP’s impact within UCL and wider London.
-
This will give us the opportunity to increase the scope for networking, a key tool to this industry that will expand our reach and make HeMP a key London platform for career development in health management and policy.
-
From this, we will establish a strong platform that enables us to cultivate the HeMP newsletter, creating consistent and coherent communication with our members & wider community as well as displaying current opportunities for students.
-
Implementing workshops & CV building, will be instrumental in providing student support & career opportunities, equiping members with the tools to stand out in the field.
-
Lastly we will lobby for a Leadership & Management iBSc, to deliver a world-class iBSc programme that meets the needs of the modern medical climate
