Writing my NASA-NSS Space Settlement Competition winning project on leveraging zero-gravity for 3D printing organs ignited my passion for healthcare innovation. But, it wasn’t until TKS, a program equipping students with skills and mindsets to disrupt technologies, that I turned my 50-page research into a project with business acumen. I managed an international team of 5 to build Alara, the first bioprinting space manufacturing concept. We developed a website, market analysis, one pager, pitching deck, and article, earning “Most Innovative Idea” out of 3,500+ global submissions.
At TKS, I was also selected to develop an EdTech strategy with the World Economic Forum integrating their educational platform into Finland’s phenomenon-based learning approach. These experiences taught me to translate science into numbers, zoom in on details without losing the big picture and make complex ideas digestible.
On the fundraising side, I helped the P.A.V.E.L. Association raise 78,000RON for advanced leukemia treatments, 25% over the target. Despite being the youngest contributors of the Association, I worked with multiple teams and ran donor campaigns.
I strongly believe that I am the right fit for HIPS’ Treasurer position not only owing to my initiatives and passion for life sciences, but as a First Year Rep excited to continue my activity in the society for the next 3 years, expanding our audience and working on meaningful projects like Dr. Isabel’s talk on heathtech for patient value.
