Pens in Politics.

What does that even mean? It’s my personal catchphrase to remind us all that politics is more than just responding to a tweet or shouting on a big stage. It’s the administrative, policy, and sometimes "mundane" tasks that ensure a functioning political society.

Although I’ve never been called "mundane" to my face (yet!), I understand the critical importance of the behind-the-scenes work in any political environment. As a former youth political party secretary, I’ve seen firsthand how vital it is to handle the “background work.” I’ve gained hands-on experience as a volunteering secretary, from coordinating group work to organising large-scale media debates with outlets like LBC and Times Radio.

I’m standing for Volunteering Secretary because I have a deep passion for both volunteering and secretarial work. Coming from a less fortunate background, I know how essential volunteering is to building and maintaining strong communities. I want to give back by optimising collaboration within the society, fostering engagement, and encouraging civil exploration of global and domestic issues.

I’m committed to enhancing diversity within the society—both in the subjects we discuss and among the people who take part. Together, we can create a space that not only educates but also empowers our members to engage thoughtfully with the ever so growing, complex, political world !
