Having played on the UCL Golf team for 2 years and been on the committee as your Social Secretary this year, I think that I am well placed to take on the role of Captain next year.

Golf has been a lifelong passion of mine - I started playing at the age of five, and with a current handicap of 5, I understand both the competitive and social aspect of the game. The UCL Golf Team has helped me to fall back in love with the sport after I stopped playing for 2 years. It would be amazing to have the opportunity to give back to the club as Captain.

As Captain, I will prioritise improving team performance, cultivating a strong team spirit, and making golf more accessible to all members. I would organise regular team practices to help the team improve diverse areas of their game. I will also encourage the team to attend the Social Range sessions when we don't have matches so that Social members are able to learn from talented golfers. Implementing this from the start of term and during taster sessions would help social members build confidence and skills from day one.

I believe I would be UCL's first female Golf Captain and would take the opportunity to contact BUCS to lobby for a fairer system of equating male and female players in matches.

This year on the committee, I really enjoyed seeing the club grow and develop. I want to continue that momentum by ensuring the team remains competitive while strengthening the club’s community. I am committed to making UCL Golf the best it can be.
