Hi everyone, I’m Charlotte, and I’m running to be your next Welfare Officer! I’m new to football (playing for the 4s) and when I joined UCL, I was drawn in by how welcoming UCLWFC is. Since then, I’ve had such a great time and would love the chance to help maintain the club’s friendly, inclusive nature, promoting wellbeing for everyone - whether you’re a seasoned player or new like me!

Why me?
Last year, I spent six months as an LSA, supporting two SEN kids. This role taught me about the importance of creating spaces where everyone feels comfortable and understood. I know everyone’s needs are different and I’m committed to ensuring the club stays a space where all members feel supported, included and valued.

One of the kids I worked with came from a difficult home situation, so I became familiar with safeguarding procedures and handling sensitive information. I hope this makes me a trustworthy point of contact for any welfare concerns, big or small.

I’ve also been a regular at Wednesday socials (and plan to keep that up!), so I’m hoping my familiar face will make me approachable too.

What would I do?

  • Work with social secs to plan wellness-focused activities (movie/games nights, non-alcohol socials - open to ideas!)
  • Share resources and tips to promote mental and physical wellbeing
  • Create a space for anonymous concerns to bring to the committee

I’m really passionate about making sure everyone feels welcome and represented and I’d love the chance to be your Welfare Officer! ⚽💜
