Film and TV Society: Workshop Producer

Hi! I’m Pelin, and I’m excited to rerun for the Workshop Producer after serving in this role over the past year. During my time in this position, I’ve worked to organize a range of workshops from production design to film marketing to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow.

This year, we've arranged workshops with industry professionals, including Jasmine Austing (NBCUniversal), Lisa Gunning (Black Doves), Adriano Goldman (The Crown), Donal Woods (Downton Abbey), and Eve Stewart (Les Misérables, The Danish Girl, The King's Speech). Our upcoming workshops for this year include Mark Day (Harry Potter, About Time, Bridget Jones), Eddie Hamilton (Top Gun, Mission Impossible, The Kingsman), and Simon Finney (Wicked, Barbie). Based on the feedback I’ve received, I’m developing more practical workshops, such as Scriptwriting 101, similar to the hands-on camera workshop we previously held.

This year has allowed me to develop key skills in reaching out to industry professionals and fostering strong connections, which has led to exciting opportunities for our society members, including shadowing experiences. I understand the significance of workshops in shaping careers, so if re-elected, I aim to expand our offerings, balancing industry talks with practical workshops. With the relationships I’ve built, I believe next year will bring even more exciting learning opportunities.
