Esperanto and Endangered Languages Society: Welfare Officer

Hey everyone! My name is Danilo and I am applying to be the Welfare Officer of EELS for my final year! I founded this society back in 2022 and was the president for two years and I was able to lead us to being shortlisted for “Best New Society” in 2023, and thus this society really means a lot to me and I want to get more involved this year after taking more a backseat these few past few months. Next year, I will do regular Welfare Checks and run Welfare Socials (such as Kahoot nights, Tea and Cake Drop-In sessions and movie nights) and most importantly I will always continue to be here for all of our members and signpost and help whenever I can. I will to ensure that the society is a very welcoming and fun place where members can make friends and enjoy their time at university. I would also love to host some events and teach some of my taster sessions that I have done in the past, such as Cornish, Simlish, Occitan, Sicilian and others, and restart the Esperanto for beginners’ sessions. I also want to expand the society’s outreach and invite more guest speakers in and encourage more members to showcase their beautiful endangered languages.
