Dear ESG Members,

Just 3 months into joining the ESG Society, I was promoted to Head of Events, simply because I wanted to build something bigger. I expanded our industry network and led events that drew record-breaking engagement, proving that ESG is not just a niche interest, but a field that should be accessible, ambitious, and career-defining for students.
Having worked on fundraising for Pakistan’s pioneering $40M Climate Fund (more about it in Forbes!), I saw firsthand how finance, policy, and innovation intertwine to drive real impact. But I also saw that breaking into ESG remains unnecessarily difficult. Opportunities are scattered, networks are limited, and access depends too much on knowing the right people.

If elected as Vice President, that will change. This society is already strong, but it can be so much bigger; More mentorship, more industry connections, and more high-value opportunities.

What Comes Next?

ESG Mentorship Program: Real connections with alumni and industry leaders for career guidance, shadowing, and internships.

Bigger, Better Events: Case competitions, policy debates, and hands-on workshops that deliver actual industry experience.

Expanding ESG Beyond Finance: Collaborations across law, tech, and policy so ESG is a space for everyone at UCL and beyond.

Industry & Career Partnerships: Corporate partnerships, office visits, and (hopefully) direct internship pipelines.

Member-Driven Growth: Mid-term and end-of-term feedback loops to shape what comes next.
