Adrian Tong

Hi, I’m Adrian, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student and the current Head of Sponsorships at the Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering Society. Through this role, I’ve developed strong skills in outreach, brand positioning, and strategic communication, which are key elements of effective marketing. Successfully securing partnerships requires understanding audiences, crafting compelling narratives, and presenting a society in a way that drives engagement.

Marketing goes beyond promotion; it’s about building a strong identity and ensuring events reach the right people. I thrive in balancing creativity with strategy, using data-driven insights and innovative approaches to maximize impact.

As Head of Marketing, I’m eager to refine and expand the Engineering Society’s presence, ensuring it remains dynamic, engaging, and well-recognized, looking forward to contributing, collaborating, and making a real impact!

Celine He

Hi, I'm Celine, a second-year Civil Engineering student. I have a history in leadership and event management and believe that I am therefore suited for the position of Head of Marketing for the Engineering Society. My experience as Head Student in sixth form provided me with skills in organising and promoting large-scale events, from coordinating logistics to creating impactful marketing campaigns that ensured high attendance and engagement. I successfully led teams, managed budgets, and utilised social media platforms to maximise visibility and participation. Being born and raised in London, I’ve grown up in a diverse and dynamic environment, which has taught me the importance of inclusivity and adaptability—qualities I’ll bring to this role. As Head of Marketing, I aim to bring this same level of dedication, inclusivity and creativity to the Engineering Society and help promote the society’s initiatives to a wider audience. My technical background in engineering, combined with my passion for marketing and event management, gives me the necessary skills to combine the society’s academic focus and its social and professional outreach. I am eager to use my skills to elevate the society’s profile, attract new members, and create memorable experiences that connect engineering students across all disciplines.

Sahena Hurburun

Stepping into the role of Head of Marketing isn't just about leading a team—it's about orchestrating a symphony of strategy and creativity to drive impactful results. I see marketing as the bridge between data and emotion, and I thrive on building connections that resonate deeply.

My proactive learning style means I'm always immersing myself fully in new challenges. For instance, as I prepare for my upcoming interview at Capital One, I've delved into the nuances of the UK credit card industry, uncovering insights that go beyond the surface. This level of dedication mirrors how I approach marketing leadership—thorough, insightful, and always a step ahead.

As Head of Marketing, my vision includes:

  • Pioneering Innovation: Introducing forward-thinking marketing strategies that position us as leaders in the industry.
  • Cultivating a Dynamic Team: Inspiring and mentoring a team that values creativity, data-driven decision-making, and relentless curiosity.
  • Enhancing Engagement: Using deep insights to tailor our messaging, ensuring we not only reach but also resonate with our target audience.
  • Expanding Horizons: Building strategic partnerships that open new markets and opportunities for growth.

I'm excited about the prospect of leading marketing efforts that are as strategic as they are creative. With my unique blend of skills, I'm confident in my ability to drive campaigns that not only achieve targets but also leave a lasting impact on our audience.

Ashley Wong

Hi! I’m Ashley, and I’m excited to run for the role of Head of Marketing for the Engineering Society! I’m eager to bring creativity and strategy to promote our society’s events and initiatives.

As Head of Marketing, I will ensure the following:

  • Clear Communication: Deliver all information and event details in a timely, engaging, and professional manner, ensuring members are well-informed and excited to participate.
  • Creative Campaigns: Develop innovative marketing strategies, including eye-catching social media content, email newsletters, and promotional materials, to showcase the value of our events and initiatives.
  • Strong Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, industry professionals, and other societies to enhance our events and create more opportunities for members.

Reflecting on my experience in high school as a co-founder of a student organisation, I’ve developed strong skills in creativity, strategic planning, and communication. These experiences have prepared me to take on this role and contribute to the growth and success of the Engineering Society.

Thank you for your support! Together, let’s elevate the Engineering Society’s presence and create a vibrant, engaged community!
