Election post

Engineering Society has been a huge part of my university experience. Through events like our boat party, games nights, and career fairs, I’ve met so many amazing new people, made great connections, and had some of my best moments at UCL. I’m running for Head of Events to help create more of those experiences and be part of the team that keeps this community thriving!
In sixth form, I founded Taylor’s Myanmar Society from scratch, handling everything from outreach to event planning. I learned how to grow a community, get people involved, and build a strong support network. As Projects & Events Executive for a volunteering society, I helped run large-scale volunteering events that brought people together for a cause. Now, as Social Secretary of UCL’s Burmese Society, I work on events that keep the society active and make sure members feel connected.
With that experience, I want to make UCL Engineering Society’s events even bigger and better!
That means:
- more game nights, friendly competitions, and casual get-togethers so we can all get to know each other better
- trips and outings (think company/site visits, field trips to go exploring, and anything else to make us touch more grass)
- parties and fun nights out
- more engaging networking and industry events - more interactive formats, more useful connections, and more opportunities that actually help students, rather than just another panel talk.
I'm super excited to bring people together and make university life more exciting!
