If you had invested just $1,000 in NVIDIA in 2003, you’d have over $600,000 today. Wise investments pay off, and- through my 3-pillar strategy below- I hope you see that voting for me is one of them.

  1. Enhance flagship events
Building on EFS's tradition of hosting high-profile events, such as fireside chats with figures like Jonathan Haskel and Jean-Jacques Guiony, I aim to further diversify our event portfolio and provide members with comprehensive insights and networking opportunities.
  2. Grow Bloomsbury Capital
As a current analyst at the fund, my goal is to grow awareness of Bloomsbury Capital’s reach; for instance, by inviting members of EFS to attend bi-weekly pitches through an application process. This would give them exposure to the structured investment strategy the fund follows. BC is a place where we analyze idiosyncratic opportunities in equities; by inviting non-BC students to sit in on investment pitches, we’ll create an environment where learning meets capturing alpha.
  3. Strengthen Mentorship
I will organize tailored events for first, second and third year students, addressing the specific challenges and opportunities at each stage. This approach ensures that every member receives relevant, impactful experiences. Additionally, we’ll organize exclusive career development sessions covering CV building, technical interview prep, and networking strategies.

To make this possible, your vote is crucial. Together, let’s make EFS the best it can be. I value your support.

Samuel Ducrey

Why am I running for Treasurer? Well, after founding a Finance Club that was mostly just me and my friends passionately debating interest rates like we were Wall Street big shots, I figured it was time to join the board of a real society and be part of something with actual members.

With experience managing budgets (both for local events and my questionable coffee consumption), plus a stint at a Wealth Manager in Switzerland—where I’m from—I know my way around a spreadsheet. More importantly, I’ve had a great time attending so many EFS events this year, from the insightful talks with industry leaders to the Price Crash Social (where, ironically, beers seemed to appreciate in value more often than they crashed). I’d love the chance to contribute to making them happen from the inside, and try to make them even bigger and better.

As Treasurer, I’ll make sure the society runs smoothly, funds the best events, and stays financially solid, without resorting to questionable crypto schemes. Vote for me, and trust my Excel skills to keep EFS financially strong while making finance more engaging than ever.

Sahena Hurburun

I'm running for Treasurer because I believe I can contribute significantly to our society's success through diligent financial management and innovative ideas. I have a strong background in financial planning and organization, skills that are essential for managing our society's funds effectively. I aim to maintain transparent and accurate financial records, ensuring that all members are informed about our budget and expenditures. This transparency will foster trust and allow us to make collective decisions that benefit everyone. I plan to optimize our budget to enhance the quality of our events and workshops. By identifying cost-saving opportunities and seeking additional funding through sponsorships and partnerships, we can expand our activities and provide more value to our members. Collaboration is important to me. I'll work closely with the rest of the committee to align our financial strategies with our society's goals. My experience in managing budgets for previous projects has prepared me to handle the responsibilities this role demands. Choosing me as your Treasurer means entrusting someone who is dedicated, organized, and passionate about our field. Together, we can make this year the most impactful and enriching one yet. Thank you for considering me. Let's advance our society with confidence and ambition!

Olga Kozhechkina

Hello! My name is Olga and I'm a first-year Statistics, Economics and Finance student.

The Economics and Finance society helped me a lot, particularly with networking, and now I would love to help providing the same opportunities for other students.

I believe my management skills and creativity make me well-suited candidate for this role. In high school, I gained valuable experience through several activities, including working as a project manager during my internship at Uber and developing a startup project at Columbia University Entrepreneurship summer program. Now, I'm eager to apply these skills to develop the Economics and Finance society and participate in organization of exciting events, meetings, and activities.

Vote for me and let’s have a lot of fun!

James Yang

Dear EFS members,

Hello! I am James Yang, a mathematics student and proud EFS member, and I am running to be the Treasurer of EFS for next year. While founding and running the inter-maths school challenge between schools around the UK, I gained a deep understanding of the skills needed to run and finance large scale projects. This gave me the confidence to build the largest societies finances into a stable tool to support members through events and workshops.

With my experience in the banking sector through working at HSBC and the financial department of British Airways I know how important hands-on experience is for our members. As treasurer I promise to all our members I will bring well-structured and large-scale events while also focusing on financial stability.

My agenda for the upcoming year:

•  Accountability - Clear, consistent and transparent management of EFS funds. Sustainable allocation of funds to support all EFS events and activities throughout the year.

•  Relationships – Contacting sponsors to organise networking and office visit events that help all our members aspirations in the financial industry jump start.

•  Collaboration –Working with different divisions such as Client Relations to procure and build relationships with important industry sponsors.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

Chelsea Zhu

Hi everyone! I’m Chelsea, and I’m running for Treasurer of EFS.

With experience as CFO of a tuition business generating $9K/month, founder of a student social platform with 1,000+ sign-ups, and president of my school’s debate club, I have a strong background in finance, fundraising, and leadership. I am committed to using these skills to enhance EFS' financial sustainability and maximize value for our members.

My agenda for EFS will focus on Efficiency, Fundraising, and Sponsorships:

● Introduce transparent financial reports so members understand how funds are allocated.

● Prioritize high-impact events with direct networking opportunities while cutting down on passive, low-value initiatives.

● Optimize budgets to reduce ticket costs and increase accessibility.

● Proactively secure corporate sponsorships and SU funds, focusing on long-term partnerships.

I believe a society thrives by putting members first. Vote for Chelsea, and I am with my full commitment to dedicate my skills to building a strong financial foundation for your  better EFS experience!
