Drama Society has been a highlight of my time at UCL; it was the first society I joined within ArtsUCL, it allowed me to branch out into other societies (namely Shakesoc and MT). Over my 2 years I have been involved in 18 different ArtsUCL Productions, including 5 Drama Soc Productions (played a middle-aged teacher twice lol), and taken on production roles in Blooms, Term & Festival shows. Now I want to help support/oversee Drama's productions.

These are some thoughts on how best I can use my experience to help:

Greater Support:

  • Right now, it can be daunting applying for production roles with no experience. I want to introduce a mentoring scheme between experienced creatives and newbies; everyone needs to start somewhere.
  • For Productions: I'd be the go-to contact for day-to-day questions (admin Qs/room bookings issues), streamlining the committee-production communication.

Termly bid drop-ins:

  • I want to extend our current HoP's (Sophie) policy and offer termly bid drop-ins: you'd be able to book a time where I can assist making your bid the best it can be.
  • This is a more personalised feedback session to help troubleshoot applications before you submit to the committee.

Festival Prominence:

  • Producing a festival is a lot of work. To revitalise our festivals, I want to take a more active role, working with officers to elevate the promotion/prominence of festivals within our society.

These are just a few of the ideas I have now, and if elected, I'd love to hear any and all suggestions!
