Election post

I am running for the position “Welfare Officer” in the Diplomacy Society because I want to organise events that allow students interested in diplomacy to connect in a non-academic setting. Since socialising and making conversation lies at the heart of diplomacy, my goal is to enhance students' university experience by ensuring that our events are not only purposeful but also enjoyable.
I plan to utilise my previous experience as an event manager and collaborate with different societies within and outside UCL to create a welcoming environment for students who wish to be a part of the society. Having served as the chairperson and delegate at numerous Model United Nations (MUN) conferences, I understand that students look forward to social events after a long day of classes or conferences. I am committed to making our social gatherings appealing and to organizing unique get-togethers that provide a break from university work.
Through my visits to various embassies and hosting the French consulate and French attachés at a conference I organized in high school, I learned from diplomats worldwide that networking is a vital social skill necessary for a successful career in diplomacy. I will ensure that each of our social events is not only original and engaging but also worth your time.
