Sophie Orgler

Having loved my time as DermSoc’s Publicity Officer, I am excited to take on a bigger role in growing the society and organising even more great events!

I believe I am a suitable candidate as I am hardworking, organised, and genuinely passionate about this field. As Vice President, I would work closely with the team to expand our outreach, bring fresh ideas, and make the society even more engaging for members. My experience this year has given me the skills to step up, and I would love the opportunity to help DermSoc continue to thrive and help more students explore their interest in dermatology!

Samruddhi Tagalpallewar

Med school is tough enough—breaking into a competitive speciality like derm shouldn’t add to the stress. But through organising national conferences and building platforms for students to access opportunities, I’ve seen how the right community can make all the difference. That’s exactly what I aim to do as Vice President of DermSoc! Through my work as Founder & President of Women in Surgery Student Association (WinSSA), I’ve led national events, developed mentorship schemes, and built partnerships with professionals. Additionally, I aided with the organisation of the Skinclusive teaching series and annual conference.

These experiences have taught me how to lead, plan, and elevate a society, and I’m eager to bring that same drive to DermSoc.

My key focus areas:

🔹 I want to make research and shadowing opportunities more accessible by collaborating with dermatologists and researchers, helping students gain hands-on experience and academic mentorship.

🔹 Multiple large-scale conferences and networking events —including hands-on derm skills sessions, and careers-focused sub-specialties talks.

🔹 With increasing interest in both clinical dermatology and aesthetic medicine, I want to ensure DermSoc caters to students exploring all career paths, from NHS consultants to private practice and entrepreneurship.

DermSoc has the potential to empower and inspire future dermatologists through networking, and career-building opportunities. As your Vice President, I’m ready to make that happen!
