Election post

I played a little cricket in high school but since coming to uni, joining this society has allowed me to develop my cricket skills and understand the game much better. I had so much fun playing softball this year that I decided to start learning hardball as well, and my progress from a beginner to a stage where I can learn hardball has been rapid.
As intermediate captain, I would want to encourage and support other members of the society, particularly those enjoying softball to try hardball and develop their abilities in both forms of the sport.
I would make a great intermediate captain because my journey in this sport this year began from scratch, so I understand how difficult it can be to try new things, but how rewarding it is to develop these skills. I have also had lots of experience playing in other team sports, such as football, so I have the leadership, organisation and dedication to be a good captain. Having experienced both wins and losses in other sports, I have the skills to encourage, support and uplift other team members and help them develop soft skills like teamwork, communication and resilience, which you get from playing sports.
Next year, I would love to try and increase the number of members playing hardball and softball, because I think you gain different experiences from playing both, with softball being less intense and focusing on learning and hardball allowing you to develop these skills.
